“Don't be discouraged by a failure. It can be a positive experience. Failure is, in a sense, the highway to success, inasmuch as every discovery of what is false leads us to seek earnestly after what is true, and every fresh experience points out some” -John Keats

Just as fair reminder, antagonizing my brother's an excellent way to end up dead, no matter how big and famous you are.

All I can say is it's a pity they didn't manage to kill more of you off. Although I certainly have had enough of Sirius Black moping over his cocky skeleton of a girlfriend all year. As my parting words to you all: you're fighting a losing battle. You're outnumbered, not to mention outsmarted if we're judging by past experience. Your best defence currently consists of a prissy Mudblood, an idiot of a Slytherin who spends her spare time brawling, Hogwarts's equivalent of the Marx brothers, a SECOND YEAR, and their rag-tag assortment of friends and fuck buddies. If I can hope for one good thing for the blood filth that litters these halls, it would be that they're afforded a quick death by Avada Kedavra, although it's more than they deserve.
So goodbye and good riddance, Hogwarts. If I ever see you again, it'll be at the end of my wand, ready to die.
Don't look for me; I've already gone.

[The Private Journal of Avis Avery] [hexed private, nearly impossible to break]
It occurred to me today that 3 months from now, we'll be done school. For good, this time. And I'll have to be around Nero constantly. It's going to be harder to find ways to report. Well, maybe not. But I have no idea when I'll see Jake after that. I've hardly seen him this year and we live in the same house.
I'm just not sure this is the way I want to die. 3:18pm

I'm starting to think absolutely everyone is completely insane. Christian Presson seems intent on blowing up an entire country because his girlfriend has an Italian friend. Andromeda Tonks knows quite well what her family could do to her but insists on trying to fraternize with her ex-sister and cousin nonetheless. Hazel Morton often seems quite ready to kill us all over Quidditch games. Rita Skeeter operates under the delusion that she can write. Dulcie Garley lies chronically. Rowan Eduards is about three deaths away from completely snapping (again). Tim Harbourne thinks that acid rain's his fault. Severus Snape claims to detest meaninglessly cruel behavior in Sirius and James, and then turns around and doles it out to people for no better reasons than they have for annoying him. Olwen Michaels claims to be a lesbian but has sex with boys. Lily Evans detests James Potter one minute and is nearly snogging his fool head off the next. Daniela Ouchi just had a major nervous meltdown and is currently being held against her will in St Mungo's.
Some forms are more obvious than others, but I suppose everyone's quite batshit, when you get down to it.
